Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Engineering and Project Management, the Senior Project Manager provides experienced, collaborative, and disciplined leadership for high-impact product, process, and business initiatives. Balancing strategic focus with hands-on execution, this role drives cross-functional alignment, mentors project leaders, and ensures projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in scope.
The Senior Project Manager cultivates strong team performance through respect, accountability, and clear communication, fostering a culture that creatively solves problems and delivers results. This role engages proactively with the Executive Leadership Team, providing concise updates, recommendations, and effective resource strategies that align with business priorities to deliver measurable value.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner with Product Managers on business cases, adjusting project constraints based on financial analysis.
- Lead the definition of complex project scope and clarify objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Develop detailed plans to achieve project objectives, including resource plans, project budgets, and project schedules. Ensure that all project activities and deliverables align with the established business processes and standards.
- Set deadlines, assign responsibilities (with the advice of the functional leads), and track and summarize project performance specifically to analyze the successful completion of both short and long-term milestones.
- Lead internal teams and external partners through the proper execution of projects.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
- Evaluate progress on projects. Generate reports regarding status of projects and inform/escalate to stakeholders as needed.
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate techniques and judgements.
- Continually measure risk and develop and execute mitigation plans to better ensure positive project outcomes.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation (minutes, schedules, deliverables, etc.).
- Work effectively with Operations to schedule and implement engineering or pilot production runs.
- Lead project retrospectives. Identify continuous improvement opportunities. Develop procedures and work instructions as required.
- Lead the advancement of Project Management maturity/capability across Angelus including processes, training and key performance indicators.
- Establish, maintain, and ensure compliance with quality processes & tools in support of ISO/AS/ITAR requirements.
- Provide mentorship to Project Management team members. Assist in development of career goals and provide development opportunities to assist in professional development.
