Job Description

JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.

The purpose of this position is to coordinate the shipments of project cargoes regardless mode of transport (Sea/Air/Land).
The job includes daily communication with the customers/carriers, documentation, data input, finding solutions and in-house coordination at customer’s office, if needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Consolidation- Documents of Operations and transportation (booking, BL, pre-advices, loading confirmation)
  • Manage import, export and triangle shipment’s bookings.
  • Responsible accurate hub billing and Job costing
  • Monitor cost leadership for cost of sales

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to communicate openly and confidently
  • Ability to influence and convince others in a way that results in acceptance and agreement
  • Ability to shape conversations to ensure focus and understanding
  • Capable to make informed judgments and to generate practical, timely solutions
  • Ability to find pragmatic solutions by using decision making techniques
  • Willingness to involve stakeholders in decision making process, to get buy-in and to implement solutions
  • Residents of Japan, Working VISA holders
  • English advanced (TOEIC score 700 or above)
  • Japanese native or Japanese Language Proficiency Test N1 level

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Intermediate level of knowledge in Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of standard and accepted runner practices.

ENVIRONMENT: 

100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions.  Travel will be required in support of the position’s responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk and hear.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stop, kneel and crouch, lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.  This position requires employee to frequently work in a fluid, fast paced environment.
