How would you contribute? 

This role is a contributing member of our Airlite - Pennsylvania team, located in Nazareth PA. As a Production Supervisor, you are a key to continued growth and success of Airlite. The Production Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of a designated shift in a plastics manufacturing environment. This role is pivotal in maintaining production efficiency, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and leading a production team to meet production targets.

 

Essential Duties: 

  • Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of production staff.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on production needs.
  • As a shift escalation point, monitor employee performance, provide feedback, execute on Airlite’s core values and report concerns to general management team.
  • As assigned, facilitate training and ensure all required compliant tasks are completed.
  • Ensure that production schedules are met according to set targets and quality standards.
  • Monitor production processes to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Implement production plans, adjust workflows as necessary, and optimize efficiency.
  • Uphold quality control standards throughout the production process.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks on products to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Address quality concerns promptly and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Promote and enforce safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and audits to mitigate hazards.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, cooperation, and productivity.
  • Motivate and support team members to achieve production goals and personal development.
  • Communicate effectively with management, other shift leaders, and departments to coordinate activities and resolve issues.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping throughout all areas and keep work area and equipment neat and clean.
  • Maintain accurate production records, reports, and documentation.
  • Provide regular updates on production performance, challenges, and achievements.
  • Demonstrate commitment to following all processes and procedures and Airlite Core Values.
  • Other duties and audits as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of direct reports. Lead assigned teams through daily operational tasks and success measures. 

Engage in training, coaching, mentoring, influencing and oversight of assigned work groups. Using servant leadership principles, model the company core values as they pertain to established policies, procedures and state law. 

 

Education / Experience / Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; further education or certifications in manufacturing or management fields beneficial.
  • Training in lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies may be advantageous.
  • Proven experience in plastics manufacturing or a related industry, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members and management.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hand dexterity to operate office equipment including computer keyboards; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the office work environment is typically quiet; when visiting the production floor the noise level may be loud.
