Job Description

CNC Machinist - Turning

Full Time, Direct Labor
Arrow, Rockford, IL, US

The turning operator will be responsible to setup jobs, set tooling, and operate CNC lathes. Programming is also required. Quality of work, personal safety, care and maintenance of equipment, and attention to detail must be maintained.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work safely
  • Creation of NC programs
  • Editing / optimizing of NC programs when necessary
  • Setting tooling and enter tooling offsets
  • Setting machine zero-point references
  • Compensating tooling offsets
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, including geometric dimension and tolerancing (GD+T)
  • Ability to use common hand gages (dial calipers, micrometers, bore gages, depth gages, etc.)
  • Ability to work with inspection department to double check 1st run parts
  • Ability to adhere to documented procedures and processes
  • Willingness to work in a team environment
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 3 years full time CNC turning experience; including setups responsibility
  • Manual dexterity
  • Clear verbal communication
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to safely use lifting aids (chain lift)
  • Ability to read and write English language
  • Must be willing to work OT when needed
  • Must wear specified safety equipment
