Job Description

SWBC is seeking a talented individual who will review supplier invoices for US, conduct a timely review and follow up on pending invoices, prepare necessary changes and work with divisions to ensure appropriate general ledger and cost center coding. This position will review and process employee expense reports, collaborate with travelers and cardholders to ensure reports are submitted timely and prepared correctly.

Essential duties include the following:

  • Responsible for training and coaching Accounts Payable staff in Mexico.

  • Monitor Accounts Payable mailboxes and Workday workflow to ensure SLA’s are met.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining key performance indicators.

  • Responsible for review and translation of Mexico invoices and submission in Workday for approval. Once invoices are approved in US, there is coordination with Treasury and the Mexico accounting firm to release payment.

  • Responsible for auditing invoices processed by Accounts Payable Specialist. Auditing will be completed in a timely manner and ensure coding is adequate to move on to the next stage of the approval processing.

  • Research and resolve vendor and department inquiries, past due charges, credit balances and vendor statements for US. 

  • Review expense reports for out of pocket reimbursements and corporate credit cards. Employee submissions with manager approval are reviewed to ensure compliance with Corporate policy. This includes verifying for adequate support, ledger account, cost center, business purpose and cost allocations.

  • Assist in development and testing of Accounts Payable and other general ledger automated enhancements, including business requirements write ups and procedure documentation.

  • During peak times may be required to process invoices.

  • Prepare monthly journal entries.

  • Perform a variety of accounting projects or other duties, as requested by management.


Serious candidates will possess the minimum qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalency, Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience required.

  • Proficient in English, spoken and written

  • Knowledge of and proficiency in finance/accounting principles.

  • Working knowledge of personal computers to include MS Word, Excel and internet

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication (both written and oral) skills

  • Confidentiality and tact are required

  • Self-starter, strong analytical skills and high attention to detail

  • Able to exhibit and exercise sound judgment while working under moderate supervision.

  • Be able to use basic office equipment

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Sit for long periods of time performing sedentary activities.

  • Stand, stoop, and kneel to file for long periods of time.

  • Push, pull, and lift up to 20 lbs. of files, supplies, documents, or other related items.
