PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC (Statewide)
AHFC is currently recruiting for a Preventative Maintenance Mechanic based out of Anchorage.
This is a Union position non-exempt, non-supervisory.

This position is primarily responsible for the maintenance and repair of the Corporations property systems statewide. Performs journeyman level work in several trades which may include plumbing, electrical, carpentry, flooring, HVAC, concrete/masonry, and landscaping.
This position is a statewide traveling role headquartered in Anchorage, requiring periodic travel to locations such as Bethel, Cordova, Fairbanks, Juneau, Ketchikan, Kodiak, Nome, Seward, Sitka, Valdez, Wasilla, and Wrangell by means of airplane, ferry, or automobile. Travel may be up to two (2) weeks per month, as required. While in Anchorage, the standard 40-hour workweek is observed, with occasional opportunities for overtime. During statewide travel, to the aforementioned locations, there is additional opportunities for overtime. The primary purpose of travel is to assist site maintenance staff with projects, or working closely with another statewide traveling maintenance mechanic.
Standard construction and maintenance practices, processes, and materials involved in each trade utilizing industry standards to insure preservation of corporation assets.
Effectively uses Microsoft suite of programs, email applications, and operation of office equipment.
Occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Uses critical thinking to solve problems.
At least six months of data processing and Microsoft Office related computer experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school, GED or equivalent and four years apprenticeship training or three years journeyman level experience in construction or maintenance of buildings, electrical, carpentry, plumbing or mechanical trades work; or any equivalent combination of experience or training.
Physical demands: lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds repeatedly during an 8 hour workday.
Must provide a valid Alaska driver's license and show proof of driving record in good standing from DMV when requested.
