Position Overview
The Specialist, Career Center assists students in exploring career pathways and preparing for postsecondary education and workforce opportunities. This position coordinates career-related events, develops partnerships with local businesses, and supports students with career planning, assessments, and college readiness processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist students in researching career pathways, training programs, and employment opportunities.
- Coordinate career and college preparation activities, including job readiness workshops and career fairs.
- Develop relationships with local businesses and community partners to support internships and job shadowing opportunities.
- Collaborate with counselors to support student career goals.
- Provide assistance with college preparation, including FAFSA, applications, scholarships, and admissions testing.
- Proctor career and college readiness assessments.
- Organize events that promote career awareness and postsecondary planning.
- Maintain records related to student participation and program outcomes.
- Conduct presentations and workshops for students and families.
- Participate in meetings and professional development activities related to college and career readiness programs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
