Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on IP activities, such as i) analyzing notices from IP offices and recommending response options, ii) preparing and delivering presentations to colleagues and senior leaders to align on strategy, iii) drafting responses to notices from IP offices, and iv) providing clear instructions to external agents well in advance of response deadlines

  • Interface between internal teams and external agents throughout the trademark filing and examination process, while monitoring and reporting on use of the trademarks

  • Execute and report on IP searches, such as patentability, registrability, landscape, and freedom to operate searches

  • Engage with existing uses and explore new uses of AI to improve efficiency

  • Continuously evaluate workflows within the IP Team; identify areas for improvement, develop improvement options and recommendations, and lead improvement initiatives

  • Contribute to the up-keep and continuous improvement of internal systems and processes to manage the IP portfolio, and support the IP Team with budget setting and tracking expenditures

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience; advanced degree is an asset

  • Working knowledge of Intellectual Property law or processes

  • Experience working in a corporate or legal environment is required

  • Strong planning and organization skills; ability to manage multiple priorities while adhering to strict deadlines

The annual salary for this job ranges from:

$71,200.00 - $96,400.00

STEMCELL determines an individual’s pay within the range based on multiple factors including experience, education, job-related skills, and equity within the team or organization. For jobs that are eligible for sales incentives, the range noted above is inclusive of target incentives; actual incentives are based on individual performance results in accordance with company policy. In addition to base salary, STEMCELL offers a comprehensive total rewards package including health benefits, retirement savings, and more.
