Position: Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Employment Type: Full-time / Part-time

Location: Varies based on client needs

Pay Rate: Competitive and based on experience

Responsibilities:

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at GHS, you will:


  • Provide Direct Care – Assist individuals with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, and mobility support.
  • Promote Independence – Encourage and support individuals in developing daily life skills, social skills, and self-sufficiency.
  • Ensure Health & Safety – Monitor and assist with medication administration, follow care plans, and respond to medical or behavioral needs.
  • Support Community Engagement – Assist individuals in participating in community activities, outings, employment, and social events.
  • Behavioral Support – Implement behavior support strategies as outlined in individualized plans to promote positive behavior and emotional well-being.
  • Household Responsibilities – Assist with light housekeeping, meal planning, and maintaining a safe and clean living environment.
  • Advocacy & Empowerment – Serve as a strong advocate for individuals, ensuring their rights and choices are respected.
  • Documentation & Communication – Maintain accurate records of daily activities, behavioral observations, and care provided.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if transporting clients).
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
  • Must complete required training and certification courses as assigned.
  • Ability to lift and assist individuals as needed.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
