Ogden-Weber Technical College (OTECH) builds a prosperous community by creating a technically skilled workforce, one student at a time. As a College Store Associate, you’ll help bring that mission to life by supporting students, faculty, and customers through a well-run, responsive campus store.

In this hands-on role, you will manage ordering for all College Store products, including special customer requests, submit and track orders through delivery, and maintain inventory levels that support both store operations and instructional program needs. You’ll work closely with faculty to ensure required materials are available when students need them and communicate product availability to support timely purchase fulfillment.

You’ll also serve as a key point of contact for customers, assisting with purchases, providing efficient checkout support, and delivering friendly, professional service. Organization, communication, and attention to detail are essential, as your work plays a direct role in supporting student success.

This position reports directly to the College Store Manager and reflects OTECH’s core values of Community, Learning, and Integrity.


Position Duties

1. Conduct all functions of cashiering and assist customers with their needs. 
2. Collaborate with instructional programs to determine necessary student needs for books and supplies in relation to on-hand inventory levels. 
3. Maintenance of the order guide for quick purchase request fulfillment. 
4. Responsible for ordering all products needed for the store and special orders for customers. 
5. Manage tracking processes for surveys, curriculum access codes, and other student data. 
6. Maintains the student financial aid function in the point-of-sale system for students and interdepartmental purchases. 
7. Assists the College Store Manager with inventory management of the store, including periodic cycle counts. 
8. Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:
1. High School Diploma and one year of cash handling and customer service experience.
2. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
3. Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat DC, specifically how to combine and edit files.
4. Must possess a professional demeanor and dress.
5. Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills.
6. Work well in a team environment.
7. Maintain strict confidentiality and professional discretion regarding sensitive and proprietary information.

Physical Requirements:
1. Climbing: Includes ladders, stepping stools, ramps, etc.
2. Stooping: Bending downward and forward at the waist. Requires full use of lower extremities and back muscles.
3. Kneeling: Resting on knee or knees.
4. Crouching: Bending downward and forward at the leg and spine.
5. Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
6. Standing: For extended time periods.
7. Pushing: Using upper body to press against something with steady force.
8. Pulling: Using upper body to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects.
9. Lifting: Occurs frequently and requires substantial use of upper body and back muscles.
10. Finger Dexterity: Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.
11. Grasping: Using fingers and palm on an object.
12. Talking: Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
13. Average Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
14. Average Visual Abilities: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products or operate machinery.
15. Physical Strength: Medium Work; exerting up to 50 lbs. occasionally, and/or up to20 lbs. frequently, and 10 lbs. constantly.

WORKING HOURS:

Monday through Thursday 8 AM to 5 PM; Friday 8 AM to 4 PM
