Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate elementary teacher to join our team at Oakville Elementary. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a positive learning environment that encourages student growth and development. This full-time position requires a creative and enthusiastic educator who can effectively engage students in a variety of subjects while promoting a love for learning.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
- Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including tests, projects, and observations.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues to provide feedback and support for student growth.
- Collaborate with other educators and staff to enhance the educational experience and implement school-wide initiatives.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and trends.
- Manage classroom behavior and implement effective strategies to address disciplinary issues.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; valid teaching certification for elementary education.
- Proven experience teaching in an elementary school setting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning experiences.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

The Oakville School District is accepting applications for the position of teacher at the Oakville Elementary School for the
2026/2027 school year.
Assigned Grade Level: To Be Determined; anticipated placement within Kindergarten through 5th Grade
Teachers at Oakville Elementary develop student’s academic and social skills by implementing the district approved
curriculum and displaying a commitment to student learning consistent with the Oakville School District’s mission.

leave, and additional compensation beyond their base salary as outlined in their Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

● Evaluate pupils academic and social growth, keep appropriate records and prepare progress reports and report
cards

Essential Job Functions

● Prepare teaching materials and reports for the purpose of implementing lesson plans and providing
documentation of teacher and student progress
● Monitor student activities for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment
● Report incidents (child abuse, fights, substance abuse, etc.) for the purpose of maintain personal safety of
students, providing a positive learning environment, and adhering to education code and district and school
policies, refer to intervention and participate on intervention team as required
● Provide an exceptional educational experience to all students; communicate an enthusiasm for learning engage
in student goal setting
● Provide clear and focused instruction for all students by using a variety of teaching strategies to meet the needs
of all students to assure successful learning through a defined course of study
● Advise parents and/or legal guardians of student progress for the purpose of supporting teachers’ expectations,
developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing classroom goals in the home environment
● Frequently assess and monitor students for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents, and
administration (regularly on weekly and monthly basis) regarding student progress, expectations, and goals by
using quality classroom-based assessments, and formal standardized assessments
● Collaborate with school personnel, parents, and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the
quality of student outcomes, developing solutions, and planning curriculum and willingness to work with grade
level team
● Direct instructional assistant, volunteers, and/or student aides for the purpose of providing an effective school
program and addressing the needs of individual students and be supportive of parent volunteers in the
classroom
● Utilize district adopted curriculum to guide instruction

learning, which include campus and building wide common standards, discipline system, and common
expectations

Physical Requirements
● Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the school day
● Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching
● Ability to lift and carry up to 25lbs (e.g. classroom materials, student assistance)
● Ability to sit on the floor or in child-seized seating and transition to standing
● Adequate vision and hearing to supervise students and maintain a safe environment
● Ability to actively monitor and respond to student behavior in classrooms, playgrounds, and other school
settings
● Fine motor skills for writing, typing, and instructional tasks
● Ability to communicate clearly (verbal and written) with students, staff and families
● Capability to respond quickly in emergency situations

Minimum Qualifications
• Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigating and fingerprint clearance
• A valid Washington State teaching certificate
• Endorsement in Elementary Education (k-8) or early Childhood education
• Highly Qualified for assigned position
• Must comply with all District rules and regulations
