Job Description

 

Job Title: Clinical Fellow in Palliative Medicine  

Location: Marie Curie Hospice, Edinburgh

Salary: NHS Specialty Registrar (StR) Pay scale: £39,374 to £52,090 per annum 

  (dependent on experience).  

Working Hours: 32 hours per week 

Contract:  Fixed term – 6 months  

Closing Date: 25 May 2026 

Interview Date: 02 June 2026 

Start Date:  August 2026 

  

Depending on experience, the postholders will also have opportunities to contribute to the delivery of community services (including virtual beds) and to gain experience in the duty doctor role. In addition to clinical care, dedicated Supporting Professional Activities (SPA) time will be provided to enable the postholders to participate in training and education, maintain clinical excellence within the service, and pursue ongoing professional development. This role will particularly appeal to junior doctors who are keen to build a career in this field. 

What we are looking for: 

  • Full GMC registration, a licence to practice and at least 2 years of full-time postgraduate training, preferably within the NHS 
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. 
  • Communication skills that are sensitive to patients and carers 
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are desirable.
