    POSITION DESCRIPTION 

     

    Huron Valley Schools is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic and effective Resource Room Teacher. Looking for a collaborative and an effective communicator, both verbal and written.

                        



    Position Type:   Instructional – Middle School/Special Education



     

    Location: Muir Middle School

     

    Reports To: Principal

     

    Salary: Per Contract

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

     
    • Must hold a valid Michigan Secondary Teaching Certificate

    • Special Education endorsement required

    • Certification in non-violent crisis intervention training required, or will be provide

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

     
    • To effectively provide instruction to students on an Individualized Education Plan

    • To effectively communicate in writing and verbally with students, staff and families 

    • To progress monitor student growth to then report data and provide grades

    • To be engaged while attending building and department meetings

    • To be a learner of your content and other school related topics as to benefit students

     

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  Bachelor’s or higher.

     

    LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICAL AND REASONING SKILLS: Ability to speak and write effectively.  Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.  Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral format and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
