Maintenance Technician

Reports To: President

Shift: 7:00am - 3:pm, Monday through Friday

Status: Non-Exempt

About Applied Behavior Center for Autism:

At the Applied Behavior Center for Autism, our mission is to provide individualized, evidence-based services to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families. 




Position Overview:
The Maintenance Technician ensures that maintenance and facility issues are repaired or completed, which includes internal and external maintenance. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for traveling and providing general maintenance for four centers (Indy North, Carmel, Fischer's and Noblesville). No nights, weekends or on call. Although not directly involved with patients, the same company, state, and federal regulations apply, including criminal background checks.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of drywall repair, painting, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC experience.

Compensation:
Pay Range: $20 - $22+ per hour based on prior maintenance experience, training, or education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance:

    • Drywall repair

    • Painting

    • Light electrical and plumbing

    • HVAC

    • Grounds maintenance

    • Other general maintenance duties as assigned

  • Collaboration:

    • Demonstrate respect to employees, parents, and children

    • Work as a team player

    • Demonstrate ability to deal with sensitive and important issues in a professional manner

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Residential remodeling skills

  • High school diploma or general equivalency

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to repeatedly walk up and down steps.

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Work Environment:

  • The work environment is primarily within the Applied Behavior Center for Autism, which includes therapy rooms, classrooms, and common areas for client interactions.

  • Travel is required.
