Chinchor Electric, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Fleet Mechanic/Welder to support our full-service medium- and heavy-duty truck and equipment maintenance shop. This position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining company vehicles, equipment, and trailers, as well as performing welding and fabrication work as needed. The ideal candidate will help ensure all fleet assets remain safe, reliable, and compliant with operational standards.
We are a rapidly growing industrial and commercial electrical and signalization contractor with an extensive fleet. This is a unique opportunity to work for an established company with plenty of room to grow. Working schedule is full time, Monday - Friday 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

 
Compensation and Expectations
  • Job Type: Full Time, Hourly Non-Exempt
  • Salary: $30+ Based on Experience
  • MUST have a clean driving record.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Chassis inspection, basic engine, transmission, brake, tire, suspension service with high level understanding of 12V DC electrical
  • Emissions diagnosis and repair
  • Applicant must have computer literacy.
  • High level of integrity, able to work independently and with others.
  • Document all services and repairs performed.
  • Generate and complete work orders and with detail- oriented documentation daily.
  • Willingness to gain knowledge and experience through provided training, safe work practices and habits.
  • Must be able to make independent decisions.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
  • Conduct welding and fabrication work on equipment, frames, and components using MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques
Education, Experience, and Certifications
  • 5+ years of mechanic experience
  • 7 years minimum of welding experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • CDL A Driver’s License - Preferred
  • Personally maintained tools up to 1/2" drive
Physical Demands:
Must be able to perform multiple tasks and can handle the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, pulling, pushing, climbing, and lifting at least 50lbs.
