Position Summary: 





The Support Services Specialist performs a broad range of customer service functions in support of pathologists, clients, and patients, utilizing multiple systems and applications, including proprietary software. This role triages and resolves a high volume of requests received primarily via phone, email, and fax, as well as through in-person interactions. The Support Services Specialist is required to adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations and follow established safety and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols, as the position may involve exposure to environmental hazards. 





Position Schedule Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm





 





Essential Duties: 







  • Phone calls through soft phone system including pathology report updates, scheduling & dispatching for pathology technician procedures, report revisions, test add-on requests, supply orders, doctor to doctor requests 









  • Process medical records requests for pathology reports and other documentation 









  • Intake and processing of fax and email communication 









  • Data entry using LIS system 









  • Tissue release requests to patients, funeral homes, legal entities or other 3rd parties 









  • Notification of critical results to clinician offices 









  • Create and print custom requisition forms for non-interfaced clients 









  • Clerical duties including internal mail distribution 









  • CRM data management including account and contact information as well as logging of each call  









  • Duplicate patient profile management 









  • Other duties as assigned
