Generalist position rotating through all departments: blood bank, chemistry, coagulation, hematology, basic microbiology and urinalysis. Performs manual and automated routine blood tests. Prepares specimens for microscope examination. Operates laboratory equipment and performs a variety of tasks. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to supervisor or manager. Requires graduation from an accredited MLT/MLS program and passing a national exam given by the Board of Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology or equivalent. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within medical laboratory field. 3 months experience preferred.
