With a strong commitment to sustainability and corporate responsibility, we are seeking a talented Thermal Desorption Unit (TDU) Operator to contribute to our ongoing success.
Position Summary:
The TDU Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Thermal Desorption Unit, which treats hydrocarbon-contaminated materials. This role involves equipment operation, monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor the Thermal Desorption Unit and related systems.
- Adjust equipment settings to maintain optimal performance and compliance.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in a timely manner.
- Record operating data and maintain accurate logs.
- Adhere to safety protocols and environmental compliance requirements.
- Assist with loading and unloading of material as needed.
- Possesses strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to effectively supervise and motivate a crew of 4 or more employees.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and organizational skills to coordinate tasks, delegate responsibilities, and ensure crew efficiency and safety.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial operations, preferably in thermal desorption or related environmental treatment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, operating manuals, and safety procedures.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in an industrial or environmental operations setting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime if necessary.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and respirator fit test.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Prolonged periods standing, walking, climbing ladders, and exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
- Working at heights.
- Working in confined spaces (as needed)
- Working 12-hour rotating shifts (days and nights)
