Job Description

Job Title: Summer Community Maintenance Assistant (Part-time)

Reports To: Area Manager 

Location: McCartney Residences at Lafayette College, Easton, PA 

Compensation: $16.00 per hour for 20 hours/week for 10-weeks in the summer (May 26-Aug 21). 

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

 

Company Information: 

Capstone On-Campus Management (COCM), with headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama, is a group of student housing professionals focused exclusively on the management of housing communities owned by non-profits and/or highly affiliated with a university. 

 

Summary: 

The Community Maintenance Assistant is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Staff Members in completing tasks that ensure the community meets safety, appearance, and operational standards.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Assist in maintaining the overall appearance and cleanliness of the community, including the grounds, amenities, and interior and exterior of the building. 
  • Complete the "turn" process (including painting and floor cleaning) in empty suites for move-in by new residents. 
  • Assist with accessing and removing tools, supplies, equipment, and other materials from the maintenance areas. 
  • Follow operating and safety policies and procedures, and comply with federal, state, and local laws and ordinances.  
  • Complete paperwork and other documentation associated with work orders.  
  • Attend all staff meetings and training programs and participate in on-going training with the McCartney Residences staff on an as needed. 


Qualifications: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • High school diploma. 
  • Demonstrate proficiency in verbal communication. 
  • Possess strong customer service skills. 
  • Must have troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.  
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs. and navigate up/downstairs. 
  • Ability to work up to 20 hours a week Monday through Friday between 8:00am-5:00pm.
  • Availability to work May 26 through August 21.

Work Hours 

Twenty hours per week in shifts Monday through Friday between 8:00am -5:00pm
