Position Summary
They are seeking a Regional Environmental Services Director (ESD) to join their leadership team. This individual will serve as the on-site ESD at one of their flagship SNFs while also providing regional oversight and support to other facilities within their network. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a proactive, experienced, and knowledgeable professional who can drive operational excellence across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the Environmental Services Director at the assigned primary facility, managing day-to-day operations including housekeeping and laundry.
Provide oversight, training, and support to Environmental Services teams at multiple SNF locations across the region.
Conduct regular facility audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, infection control protocols, and internal quality benchmarks.
Assist in the onboarding and mentoring of ESDs and support staff across the organization.
Collaborate with Administrators, Regional Leadership, and Clinical Teams to ensure environmental services align with operational goals and resident care priorities.
Monitor vendor relationships, supply usage, and departmental budgets across locations.
Lead emergency preparedness efforts related to environmental services (e.g., HVAC failure, sanitation issues, weather-related impacts).
Ensure ongoing compliance with CMS, IDPH, OSHA, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as an Environmental Services Director or equivalent role, preferably in a skilled nursing or healthcare setting.
Prior multi-site or regional oversight experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge of long-term care regulations, infection control practices, and environmental safety standards.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to travel regularly to facilities across the Chicagoland area.
Proven ability to train and mentor staff in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification or trade school training a plus.
