Job Description

Principal Function: The Conner Prairie Business Intelligence Department seeks an aspiring museum or evaluation professional for a paid Summer 2026 in-person internship. This internship is project-based and will involve survey creation, data collection, analyzation and summary of results for presentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to: 

  1. Collecting data from our guests in the form of observation, surveys, and interviews.
  2. Analyzing collected data using Microsoft Excel (no prior experience with Excel is necessary).
  3. Writing summaries of data analyzed for review by Research and Evaluation Associate.
  4. Writing surveys and other data collection instruments based on departmental and organizational needs.
  5. Other duties are possible, but will be based on the successful applicants skills and Interests.

Length of Internship/Hours/Rate of Pay:

  • 15 hours/week for 12 weeks
  • June-August 2026
  • $14.00/hour for up to 180 hours
  • Will coordinate and flex schedule around academic commitments as necessary.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. 

Education and/or Experience: No prior experience necessary. Training and internship projects will be customized to the successful applicants skill level. College or graduate level coursework in Education, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Museum Studies, or Market Research desired. Please include a Relevant Coursework section in your submitted resume if you have taken courses in any of these areas. Some flexible weekend availability is desired. Occasional evening availability is a plus. Interest in nonprofit organizations and informal learning is desired.
