Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Project Quality Supervisor – Final Inspection to oversee and coordinate all final inspection activities at our fabrication facility. This role ensures that all pressure vessels, tanks, and associated components meet client specifications, industry codes, and internal quality standards before release for shipment or delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the final inspection team, ensuring all fabricated vessels and tanks meet quality requirements.
Conduct and oversee final visual and dimensional inspections of welded assemblies, components, and finished products.
Review and verify compliance with applicable codes (ASME, API, etc.), customer specifications, and internal procedures.
Collaborate with welding, fabrication, NDE, and engineering teams to resolve non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Ensure final inspection documentation, including test reports, certifications, and release packages, is accurate and complete.
Coordinate with third-party inspectors, customers, and regulatory agencies for witness inspections and sign-offs.
Mentor and train junior inspectors and promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Support audits, quality meetings, and client walkthroughs as needed.
Maintain inspection tools and ensure calibration and equipment readiness.
Drive compliance with safety protocols and promote safe work practices in all inspection activities.
Requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification in QA/QC, Welding Inspection, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality control/inspection in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of ASME Section VIII, API 650/620, AWS D1.1, and other relevant codes and standards.
Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) preferred.
Familiarity with API Codes and NDT methods (VT, PT, MT, RT, UT) and interpreting results.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, WPS, and customer specifications.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in a fabrication shop environment with regular exposure to heat, noise, and fabrication equipment.
Requires the use of PPE including safety glasses, gloves, hard hat, and steel-toe boots.
Standing, walking, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 lbs may be required.
