Job Summary
This job is in the Safety and Operations job family (Department), which covers positions supervising, leading, and/or performing work involving safety, health, and environmental issues anticipating, dealing with, eliminating, or controlling hazardous conditions, exposures, and practices. These hazards may result from human error, equipment, or machine operation and may lead to injuries or damage to property or the environment. They are responsible for and supervises the maintenance, care, and efficient operation of all equipment and facilities used by the organization. This position reports to the Operations or Production Manager.

Sedentary Work- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Job Function
• Responsible for managing day-to-day safety operations, including collection, analysis, and reporting. Inspects and performs maintenance on assigned equipment and facilities.
• Responsible for scheduling daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual performance maintenance of facility, machinery, and equipment.
• Ensures record keeping of all maintenance and repairs to facility, machinery, and equipment.
• Ensures assigned facilities and equipment are ready for regular business and special events.
• Maintains files of warranties, records, licenses, inspections, service agreements, and contracts for various pieces of equipment.
• Maintains the inventory, storage, and distribution of equipment.
• Provides recommendations for purchases of new equipment.
• Collaborates with other appropriate management staff to prepare and implement budget.
• Manages the analysis and interpretation of safety information through performance of cause evaluations.
• Point of contact for onsite injury incidents and related processes.
• Ensures proper investigation and presentations are performed for injury related incidents.
• Develops and administers various safety plans and procedures for all company personnel.
• Ensures safety drills plans are maintained and performed as applicable for Corporate, Federal, state, and/or local regulations
• Develops and manages required safety records, reports, and logs to conform to applicable Federal, state, and/or local regulations.
• Develops expertise in regulatory reporting content and technical requirements.
• Designs and distributes company-wide safety performance reports and dashboards.
• Participates in developing safety goals, objectives, and systems, and recommends necessary changes.
• Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continuous improvement in efficiency of safety operations and services performed and re-evaluates them for cost effectiveness.
• Identifies safety trends within regions/companies and other indicators to improve overall safety performance.
• Develops and delivers required annual safety training based on Federal, state, and/or company needs.
• Responsible for helping instill a company-wide culture of safety by management engagement, coaching employees, and promoting commitment to employee safety.
• Manages and prioritizes timely responses to ad hoc data requests.
• Serves as subject matter expert in safety data reporting and analysis.
• Leads, coaches, and mentors a team of safety professionals while managing resource allocation and staffing.
• Responsible for adhering to safety processes and protocols.
All other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
Required Skills
• 0-5 years of management experience or any equivalent combination of education and safety or operations experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
• High School diploma/GED required, Bachelor degree preferred.
• Knowledge of Data Analytics, OSHA Compliance, Safety, etc. practices and key trends required.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively required.
• Ability to exercise discretion when handling sensitive information required.
• Ability to effectively manage resources and lead teams in the accomplishment of work required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including innovative and engaging ways to convey messages across the organization required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail required.
• Ability to make sound decisions based on a combination of factors including analysis, knowledge and experience, and judgment required.
• Ability to initiate and maintain cooperative relationships with co-workers, building trust and open lines of communication across the organization required.
• Strong computer proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.
Compensation Range
The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $75,000.00/Yr. - USD $85,000.00/Yr. depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
