Job Description

The Mechanical Engineer Intern will be mainly responsible for using in-house testing equipment to collect sensor data and run finite element simulations. A successful candidate would have a natural curiosity about MEMS physics, be detail-oriented, self-motivated, meticulous and poses a deep understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct tests and collect data for MEMS sensors
  • Write scripts to automate testing and data collection procedure
  • Post-process and analyze data.
  • Conduct finite element analysis using in-house tools (ANSYS APDL/Workbench)
  • Generate reports detailing tests, simulation analyses, and experimental outcomes.
  • Able to present and articulate technical details of the project to engineers and non-engineers
  • Support engineering team and collaborate with operations lab on debugging the ongoing issues 

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a BSc/M.S degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or related fields.
  • Experience using FEA tools, Python, and MATLAB for data analysis and visualization.
  • Be passionate about working with sensor test equipment and data acquisition systems
  • Fundamental knowledge of MEMS sensors technologies is a plus
  • Be meticulous and organized

 

The starting hourly base pay for this role ranges between USD $20 - $25. The actual rate of pay is dependent on various factors, including training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market conditions. This range is subject to change and may be adjusted in the future.

This position is open to candidates based in San Jose, CA with a hybrid work requirement (on-site presence required).
