Duties and Responsibilities:

A Computer Programmer II is an entry level programmer position, whose primary duties are to provide end-user support to all commercial off the shelf applications and in-house built applications.  They will be the primary point of contact for all application matters and will respond to all telephone calls, emails, or visitors.  

Daily duties include: Maintain a development checklist which consists of routine checks to be verified or executed. Work independently under specified objectives; applies judgment in devising program logic and in selecting and adapting standard programming procedures, resolves problems and deviations according to established practices. Administer new application account requests, updates, or deactivations. Create customized reports for all internal and external customers. Maintain and optimize routine programs. May write customized applications under close supervision of the IT Business Development Supervisor and assist with user acceptance testing. Create standard operating procedures. Conduct user training. Other responsibilities and duties assigned. Excellent verbal and written communication skills is a must, with the ability to convey technical issues in a clear, concise, and effective manner. Excellent phone skills and ability to work with only general direction of deliverables with minimum supervision. Great customer service skills and ability to interact with all customers. Strong team interpersonal skills with the ability to work with others in small or large groups.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems. One (1) year related experience. Must be knowledgeable in database development, preferably in Oracle, SQL, and PL/SQL; knowledge in SQL Server development is a plus. Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft.Net Framework Technologies, Active Server page and other web application development, and C# programming language. Must be able to operate in a Microsoft Windows Active Directory domain architecture. Certified in one of the following: Security + CE, GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) or Cisco Certified Network Associate Security (CCNA-Sec) as mandated by DoD Policy 8570, Information Assurance Technician Level II. Familiarity with financial, accounting or facilities maintenance systems. Must be able to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance

Desire:

Strong knowledge in Microsoft SQL or Oracle DB technologies and administration.  Familiarity with Windows Server 2008, Server 2008 R2, Server 2012 R2; basic Cisco networking skills; VMWare vSphere Enterprise Version 6. Other certifications: Logical Operations CyberSafe First Responder, Certified Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).
