- Previous work experience with children in Title 1 schools preferred.
- Previous work experience with English Language Learners.
- Ability to follow verbal and written directions.

- Ability to organize materials and time efficiently and to keep neat, accurate records.
- Ability to work directly with students in an appropriate and professional manner and give directions as needed.
- Experience in supporting the facilitation of small group learning activities.
- Must attend training provided by program site directors.
- Enthusiastic, energetic, and positive.
- Experience with special education students preferred.
- Provides academic and/or behavioral support to students who need additional assistance in English Language.
- Become directly involved with and interact with students on classroom projects and special activities as modeled by the classroom teacher.
- Prepare instructional materials under the direction of the teacher and/or site director(s) in an accurate and timely manner.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining accurate records of student progress.
- Work with students in the class with curriculum tasks and assignments guiding and helping but not teaching.
- Under teacher supervision, work with students to reinforce and master materials initially introduced by the teacher.
- Under the direction of the teacher, assist in supervising, interacting, and working directly with students in the classroom and other settings to continue acquisition of English Language skills (ie: lunchroom, playground, band/music/art/technology rooms, gym, library, field trips, and/or other areas).
- Keep the teacher informed of any special needs or problems of students.
- Ensure students are supported emotionally during summer school.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Implement PBIS program components to support students academic, behavior, and attendance goals.
- Facilitate and supervise students' daily enrichment activities as outlined in the summer program schedule.
- Supervise students during all on-site enrichment assemblies and activities as well as all off-site field trips following all program guidelines to ensure student safety.
- Attend all scheduled days of the summer discovery program including professional development training.
- Perform other duties and functions as assigned by the classroom teacher and/or site directors.
- June 26th (8 am - 4 pm)
- July 6 - July 31, Monday - Friday;
- Staff hours: 8 hours per day, 5 days per week / daily schedule set by the Summer School Site Director.
- Student Hours: 8:00 a.m.� 4:00 p.m., Monday - Friday, Staff hours may be flexed 30 mins before or 30 mins after student hours depending on the Site Director (s) scheduling.
- August 3- Monday (8am- 4 pm)
- All staff are required to attend 2 days (8 hours a day) of mandatory paid training as notated above.
- All paraprofessionals will be given a 15 minute relief period each day on non-field trip days, and duty free lunch on non-field trips days (30 min/day).
