Temporary part-time positions are available for Summer Camps. The length of the assignment is from May 26-July 17, 2026. The work schedule is 25-40 hours per week.

Chatham County Parks and Recreation seeks temporary part-time Recreation Aides for sports camps, after-school, weekend, and summer activities and programs. This is a fantastic opportunity if you enjoy working with children and meet the minimum qualifications.

Position Duties

• Assist in the supervision and safety of assigned activities such as organized group recreational activities, games, and events. 
• Provide excellent customer service as you always exhibit an upbeat, cooperative, and friendly attitude. 
• Collect forms and fees upon registration and ensure they are notated and filed correctly. 
• May be placed in a retail setting accepting cash, checks, and/or credit card payments for merchandise and/or services. 
• Maintain a schedule for camp attendees and organize and lead small and large group activities. 
• Utilize your leadership and organizational skills in performing duties. 
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; or
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Must be able to understand and carry out written and oral instructions and write simple notations. 
• Must be familiar with the operation of a cash register and credit card machine and know how to make change. 
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license based on assignment.
