Job Description

Eastman Credit Union is now hiring Full Time Tellers for the Kingsport Region!

Scheduling Requirements:
This full-time (40 hours/week) position requires availability Monday–Friday between 7:15 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., with weekly schedule changes based on business needs. The role floats among Kingsport Region branches: Wilcox, Meadowview, East Stone Drive, Colonial Heights, Allandale, B147, and Clinchfield.

 

Dress Code:
Business casual professional attire and conservative grooming are required at all times, including interviews.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Teller Functions

  • Perform teller transactions accurately and efficiently, using teller cash recyclers (TCR) or curbside when applicable.
  • Comprehend True Checks check acceptance recommendations and place appropriate check holds when necessary.
  • Ensure accurate balancing of cash drawer - analyze transactions to recognize and resolve outages.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of teller policies, procedures, functions, and responsibilities and be able to refer to on-line procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations (including BSA, Reg CC, and OFAC).
  • Maintain knowledge of Core Proficiently access account information for the members (i.e., multiple ownership of individual accounts, overdraft protection, deductions and allocations, Statement Viewer, EWS, etc.)
  • Maintain pleasant, positive, and helpful attitude when dealing with members and co-workers.

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Process foreign currency
  • Accept wire transfer requests
  • Perform account file maintenance
  • Create and replace plastic cards
  • Perform and adhere to notary public duties
  • Redeem and coordinate the transfer of savings bonds
  • Assist with safe deposit box entry

 

Service Excellence

  • Know and adhere to the Service Excellence Expectations
  • Assist in creating and maintaining an Every Member, Every Time culture.
  • Know and adhere to Mystery Shop expectations
    • Empathy: Using member’s name, offering additional services, providing undivided attention, using appropriate closing remarks, and displaying a can-do, glad-to service to our members.
    • Reliability: Performing transaction correctly the first time, ID member when appropriate.
    • Responsiveness: Appropriate greeting with a smile, face member and make eye contact.
    • Assurance: Confirm transaction, display willingness to serve, use “please” and “thank you”, and offer friendly comments.

 

Teamwork and Contribution

  • Identify and support self-improvement opportunities. 
  • Demonstrate team player qualities. 
  • Volunteer to assist other staff whenever possible.
  • Assist others within ECU.
  • Attend and participate in Team meetings.
  • Support ECU’s Mission, Vision, Strategic Intent, Values, Policies, Guidelines and Management’s decisions.
  • Identify cross-servicing opportunities.

 

Attendance and Punctuality

  • Demonstrate exceptional attendance and punctuality
    • Arrive at work and return from lunch/meetings promptly (be at workstation and ready to work at scheduled time).
    • Document overtime, PTO and UTO.
    • Review timecard daily for overtime and report to manager for possible remediation.
  • Be flexible when needed during scheduled time off.
