Job Description

Registered Nurse    ED                                                                              

FULL TIME        7AM-7:30PM

  ALTERNATING WEEKENDS

$112,486    BASE SALARY

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs comprehensive nursing assessments and reassessments.
  • Prioritizes care based on patient acuity and clinical presentation.
  • Initiates emergency interventions and protocols.
  • Administers medications, IV therapy, and treatments safely and accurately.
  • Monitors patient response to treatment and modifies care as appropriate.
  • Assists with procedures such as intubation, sedation, central line placement, and resuscitation.
  • Conducts triage using standardized acuity tools and reassesses waiting patients.
  • Participates in resuscitations and emergency response situations.
  • Supports airway management and hemodynamic stabilization.
  • Promotes patient safety, dignity, and respect.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Participates in bedside handoff and care coordination.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Identifies and reports safety concerns and participates in quality initiatives.
  • Supports education, mentoring, and professional development.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Licensure: Current Registered Nurse license.

Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

Preferred: Trauma and pediatric emergency certifications and emergency nursing specialty certification.

Experience

Acute care experience preferred. Emergency nursing experience strongly preferred.

Skills and Competencies

Strong critical thinking, ability to work in high-stress environments, teamwork, communication, cultural competence, and organizational skills.

Working Conditions

Fast-paced, high-acuity environment with rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged standing and walking. Ability to lift, push, and assist patients (up to 50lbs) Ability to respond rapidly in emergencies.
