Overview 概述 The Lead Simulation Engineer will be responsible for detailed, scientific systematic simulation, analysis, and optimization; and provide design recommendations for product improvement. In this key role, the Lead Simulation Engineer plans and conducts activities to identify, define, and prove feasibility for innovative life inspired home cleaning product concepts. Additionally, the person will plan and monitor the Research & Development activities carried out by BISSELL and other suppliers’ technical staff. This Engineer will provide technical direction and communications on projects beginning with ideas and culminating in approved Basis of Interest documents which initiate new Product Development projects. Responsibilities 职责 Provide simulation and analytical services to support projects in Product Development. Use brainstorms, mind-mapping, and research to generate ideas for new uses of technologies in home cleaning products. Monitor the status of technical issues on assigned projects and communicate and coordinate activities as necessary to ensure project success. Produce and update written plans to facilitate project completion in a timely and useful manner. Follow appropriate sections of the Global Product Development process. Meet planned objectives. Establish technical plan and undertake feasibility studies necessary to support execution of assigned projects. Design and build simulation models to answer specific technical questions, ensuring they are suitable to resolve feasibility questions. Apply scientific expertise to isolate and separate variables to clearly understand and evaluate the subject phenomenon. Take ownership of assigned projects by setting challenging goals and driving the projects to proven (or disproved) feasibility. Take responsibility for resolving issues and questions. Plan and coordinate the work of others, including test technicians, CAD designers, other engineers, and outside consultants to meet project objectives. Document learning and organize background information, including proof of feasibility, for delivery to Product Development. Develop simulation procedures as needed to reliably evaluate or quantify performance. Cooperate with the Test Lab and comply with Test Lab processes. Review and analyze all simulation results and compare with test results to ensure product integrity and performance. Objectively and effectively evaluate product performance. May be required to perform other duties as assigned. Experience level: • 10 years minimum (5 years for MS degree) direct simulation engineering experience • Extensive experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and/or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) SPECIALIZED TRAINING/EDUCATION PREFERRED MSME, BSME SKILLS REQUIRED Application experience in CFD and/or FEA software (ANSYS, Simulia, or similar) Application experience in PTC Creo CAD software Proficient in using MS Office programs.
