Job Description

Job Title: Lead Process Engineer



Department: Engineering



Reports To: Process Engineering Manager



FLSA Status: Salaried



 



Summary



This position will lower the cost component of manufacturing by leading, planning, directing, and coordinating process improvement initiatives in safety, quality, and efficiency, while supporting operations in all areas of boat manufacturing. This position will also lead a portion of the process engineering team by planning, directing, and coordinating process improvement projects in all areas of boat manufacturing.



 



Essential Duties and Responsibilities



· Assign, direct, and evaluate process engineering interns, technicians, and some engineers’ work, balancing responsibilities and effectively reporting out on the status of projects, deadlines, and budgets.



· Evaluate and revise processes to generate cost savings and improve safety, equipment reliability, product quality, and throughput efficiency.



· Design, evaluate, and improve process flow throughout manufacturing



· Research, develop, and implement new processes, equipment, and procedures for manufacturing



· Develop, justify, and implement capital expenditure projects from concept to completion



· Document and update work instructions, standard operating procedures, and time observations of production processes



· Lead and mentor production supervisors and employees to solve quality issues and continuous improvement initiatives



· Lead and participate in Continuous Improvement Events (Kaizen Events)



· Participate in quality audits and production startup meetings



· Participate in design reviews to improve product manufacturability



· Other duties may be assigned.
