    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's Degree or higher
    • Valid License through Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC)
    • Hold or be able to obtain one or more endorsements in secondary content area(s). ELA and/or Math endorsement preferred
    • Valid First Aid Card (for newly-licensed teachers, as required by the District for a specific position, or as required to meet state requirements)
    • Knowledge of current educational practices and methods, evaluation techniques, behavior management techniques, and communication techniques.
    • Prior virtual instruction preferred but not required
    • Oral and written proficiency in the language of instruction
    • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Create and maintain effective environments for student learning
    • Understand and organize subject matter for student learning (i.e. special lessons, activities, writing assignments, etc.)
    • Use instructional strategies that are supported by research and engage all students in learning
    • Monitor and adjust online curriculum scope and sequence to ensure standards are met
    • Access and maintain the school's Student Information System (Synergy)
    • Provide weekly and periodic reports on student progress and work completed to the administrator
    • Assess and plan for student learning
    • Use appropriate assessment, instruction, and evaluation techniques
    • Utilize effective practices to build a community of learners
    • Understand child and adolescent development and apply knowledge to curriculum selection, use of instructional practices, and student learning needs
    • Demonstrate a firm grasp of curriculum, teaching tools, and resources
    • Utilize technology to aid instruction and meet TSD9 District requirements
    • Foster positive relationships with staff, students, and families by holding parent conferences in-person, meeting in-person weekly with students, and providing daily office hours at THS for students

     

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

    *Tillamook Education Association is currently in negotiations. For reference, information provided is based on the 2022-2026 Negotiated Agreement between TSD9 and TEA. Actual terms of employment and benefits may vary depending upon ratification of the upcoming TEA Agreement.

    • Start date � August 28, 2026, On-site
    • 1.0 FTE � 190-day contract (191-day for new teachers)
    • 2026/27 Salary Schedule - to be determined.
      • 2025/26 school year base salary $47,048 - $87,523 dependent on years of teaching experience and college credits as per the TEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
    • Excellent fringe benefits
      • $30/month fee for full family insurance (medical, dental, vision)
      • $140/month contributed to HRA VEBA to help offset out of pocket medical expenses
        • Total insurance benefit package of over $22,500 annually
      • $500/month cash stipend if you have other insurance and waive district insurance
    • District paid employee contribution to PERS (Public Employees Retirement System)
      • TSD9 covers the full 6% for PERS retirement
