Job Overview
An Energy Engineering Supervisor will be part of the engineering team responsible for identifying and implementing energy efficiency projects while providing technical support to clients, customers, and contractors. In this role, the Energy Engineering Supervisor will lead a team of engineers and technical staff, assigning tasks, offering mentorship and guidance, and ensuring effective collaboration to achieve program goals.
In this role you will:
- Embrace, operate and lead within the core values.
- Possess experience with the technical aspects of energy-consuming equipment in a facility, including lighting (LED, Fluorescent, HID), HVAC systems, hot water systems, compressed air systems, building envelopes, refrigeration, and integrated design. Understand how these systems impact utility consumption and demand to build a strong business case for prioritizing recommendations based on their effect on savings and first costs.
- Provide training and development opportunities for junior engineers or team members to enhance their skills and capabilities. Participate in performance reviews and career development discussions to support professional growth.
- Serve as a point of contact between the engineering team, other departments, clients, and stakeholders. This includes providing updates on project progress, presenting technical information, and reporting on milestones and deliverables.
- Foster innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering team by adopting new technologies, methods, or tools that enhance productivity and quality.
- Input data into spreadsheets and databases to determine energy savings and manage ongoing projects. Collaborate with other Energy Advisors and Energy Engineers as needed to provide maximum technical support to clients.
- Ensure compliance with all program quality and safety policies to maintain high standards and safe operations.
- Provide advanced technical expertise and problem-solving skills to address complex engineering challenges and ensure successful project outcomes.
- Utilize engineering software to create, analyze, and interpret graphical representations of energy data and information for more effective decision-making.
Desired Characteristics
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Professional Engineer (PE) designations
Technical Expertise
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technical Science(s), or similar four (4) year degree
- 5 years in energy or process-related engineering
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Excel
- Must be able to complete technical and financial analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Project Management experience
- Energy audit experience

- Minimum travel (less than 5%)
Physical Demands
- Required to sit, stand, walk; talk and hear; and ability to touch and handle tools and/or controls
- The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
- Noise level is typically moderate
- May occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration. In these circumstances, the employee will be required to comply with the prevailing safety training in place according to the individual customer requirements
- Personal protective equipment including a hard hat, safety glasses and proper footwear must be worn when required by the job site
