Caldwell University invites applications for a temporary Coordinator for Student Support Services. Reporting to the Executive Director of Counseling Services, the Coordinator for Student Support Services is responsible for providing early support and follow-up for complex situations involving students of concern. They will monitor students and develop action plans to facilitate referrals to on and off-campus resources. In addition, the resource coordinator will develop and lead programs, trainings, and workshops for faculty, staff, students, and their family members that support holistic student development and success. This grant-funded position ends on September 30, 2026. Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Assisting students with social services needs including, but not limited to, referring to community resources, facilitating access to medical and mental health care, public benefits, and other related services.
Developing, maintaining, and monitoring a caseload through Titanium, a scheduling software system, to provide continuity of care.
Developing and documenting care plans for individual students.
Developing and maintaining a database of referral resources and services in surrounding communities. Research new resources that may be able to provide support to students.
Responding to students with immediate definable needs. Referring students to services that will support students needs for essentials such as: shelter, food, financial support, transportation, legal support, and medical and mental health needs.
Conducting informational programming for students and their families, faculty, and staff about services and various wellness topics.
Liaising with student life and academic affairs to ensure students receive wrap-around services that promote their academic success.
Initiating and developing on-going relationships with community health providers, services, hospitals, agencies and other resources.
Liaising with financial aid regarding the SNAP program.
Facilitating information sharing, as permitted by FERPA and HIPAA with identified campus departments, faculty, staff, families, and designated emergency contacts (as appropriate).
Generating reports for the grants as needed.
Providing reports on student data to the Executive Director of Counseling Services, as needed.
Attending staff meetings and other committee meetings.
Master’s degree in Higher Education, Psychology, Social Work or a related field plus one to two years of effective experience is required. Must be proficient in Google Applications such as: Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Calendar, and Slides. Must also be proficient in Microsoft: Excel, Powerpoint, and Word. Demonstrated expertise in case management is expected. Fluency in speaking and writing Spanish and English is required.
Licensed or licensed in New Jersey in Social Work is preferred. Prior experience in a university setting is preferred.
