Join Our Team as a Group Leader – After School Program at the Foxboro Charter School

Are you passionate about working with children and fostering a positive, engaging environment? The Hockomock Area YMCA’s School Age Department is seeking enthusiastic and dependable Group Leaders for our After School Program at the Foxboro Charter School. Group Leaders play a key role in supervising students, supporting daily routines, and creating a safe and welcoming space where children can learn, grow, and thrive.

Essential Functions

  • Support the development and delivery of curriculum and group activities.

  • Actively participate in all parts of the daily schedule, including:

    • Snack, lunch preparation, and cleanup

    • Activity facilitation

    • Program space setup and cleanup

  • Supervise and engage with youth to ensure a safe, fun, and inclusive environment.

  • Follow all YMCA health and safety procedures and EEC licensing regulations.

  • Report any concerns or issues promptly to the Site Director.

  • Use positive redirection and guidance techniques to support children’s social-emotional development.

  • Maintain a professional and supportive demeanor with children, families, and team members.

  • Keep assigned areas clean, organized, and inviting.

Requirements

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while effectively managing multiple responsibilities.

  • Strong work ethic with excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.

  • Demonstrated commitment to upholding and promoting the mission, values, and goals of the YMCA.

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.

  • Prior experience working with school-age children is preferred.

  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and demonstrate accountability.

  • First Aid and CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
