Trim Coil Operator/Material Handler

JOB SUMMARY:

The Trim Coil Operator/Material Handler assists the Trim Coil Lead and the Trim Coil Operators to ensure that the production schedule is followed and that quality standards are met.


POSITION HOURS:

Monday through Thursday from 7AM to 5:30PM, with additional hours on Fridays as needed based on production requirements.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Review the production schedule for needed material and supplies

- Review the production schedule to determine if any "partial" finished goods containers exist

- Pull and stage metal and supplies for the production lines

- Load coils onto production machines

- Store finished goods in their proper location

- Provide relief to stackers, operators, and lead for breaks and lunch breaks

- Cover vacations and absences for all trim positions

- Ensure the department runs efficiently by maintaining clean and orderly work areas and keeping an adequate supply of all materials and inventory

- Assist Trim Lead in training new employees

- Participate in safety and other training programs as required

- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor

- Strong analytical skills and process orientation

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

- Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced, multi-priority environment

- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

- Working knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
