Overview:
Provide safe, comfortable and efficient transportation services for residents.
Responsibilities:
- Meet, greet, assist, and transport participants daily.
- Prepare vehicle for trip, assure comfortable temperature, review safety supply checklist etc.
- Assist residents with entering and exiting vehicles; secure wheel chairs.
- Transport to and assist residents at the venue, assuring compliance with all safety regulations, policies and procedures.
- Oversee and implement safety and security of participants; address incidents; call 911 if required.
- Perform general vehicle maintenance such as refueling, oil checks, window washer fluid replacement and general cleaning; check vehicle regularly for damage.
- Maintain adequate fuel and oil levels, tire pressures. Regularly inspect vehicles and schedule required repair and maintenance work.
- Assure cleanliness of the interior vehicle at the conclusion of each trip: empty trash, sweep and vacuum, perform general cleaning and disinfecting, as required. Wash vehicles.
- Maintain daily transportation logs and daily and weekly inspection logs.
- Assist Resident Services staff: run errands, purchase supplies, drop off donated items.
- Perform basic services as requested by residents.
- Provide the people we serve with clear opportunities to direct their own lives and decide how they will spend their day.
- Ensure a safe environment for residents and utilize tools and equipment in a safe manner.
Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License in the State of Ohio and clear driving record.
- Knowledge of city and demonstrated ability to read maps.
- Basic computer proficiency: data entry and retrieval; internet, email.
- Basic mechanical and maintenance skills.
- Customer service skills.
- In-depth interpersonal skills: demonstrated trust, integrity, compassion and ability to effectively deal with all types of people.
