Position:

The Gunsmithing position is ideal for those with a passion for learning who want to build a career in the field. The position boasts ample room for growth and immense learning potential. Work alongside some of the industry’s best gun builders, making the premier 1911 style pistols.

Our ideal applicant is self-motivated, takes pride in their work, and can work as a team as well as independently. Applicants should also be adept at problem solving and be able and willing to learn new skills and apply new knowledge to their work.

Fine detail work is a large part of the job, a steady hand and an eye for detail are a must. The ability to accurately measure and read measurements of small parts is necessary. Previous experience with hand tools including dremel, sanders and files is preferred.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize hand tools such as foredoms and files for detailed hand work on pistols and pistol components.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot function issues; perform repairs and rework as needed
  • Polish, blend, and finish firearm components to meet cosmetic and performance standards
  • Maintain detailed build records and ensure traceability of serialized components
  • Modify parts and components to meet aesthetic and functional standards for use. 
  • Measure and qualify parts according to provided specifications.
  • Remove cosmetic blemishes and tool marks on components and completed pistols. 
  • Work independently to achieve personal and department-based goals.
  • Other tasks assigned by supervisor.

Compensation Range: $25-$35/hr

Qualification and Experience Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of firearm function, tolerances, and materials
  • Proficiency with hand tools such as rotary grinders, punches and sanding rolls.
  • Experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, bore gauges, venires, taper gauges and dial indicators.
  • Experience operating manual mills and lathes.
