Key Accountabilities

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the charge in ensuring the safety of Honda Aircraft products by applying systems engineering principles to identify and eliminate hazards, reducing associated risks throughout their lifecycle.
  • Perform system safety analyses, including Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), Preliminary System Safety Assessments (PSSA), System Safety Assessments (SSA), and Common Cause Analysis (CCA).
  • Collaborate with design, reliability, and certification teams to ensure safety requirements are met.
  • Participate in design reviews, providing critical safety-related input.
  • Utilize innovative approaches to solve complex and challenging problems.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of safety processes and tools.
  • Take personal responsibility for your continued professional growth and development, with full support from your manager.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in system safety engineering, preferably in the aerospace industry.
  • Familiarity with safety standards such as ARP4761, ARP4754A, DO-178C, and DO-254.
  • Experience with safety analysis tools (e.g., Fault Tree+, CAFTA, or similar).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience with aircraft certification processes.
  • Familiarity with the management of safety requirements in DOORS or similar software.
  • Familiarity with FAA Part 23 airworthiness standards.
  • Knowledge of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools and practices.
