Overview

As a Senior Director, you will play a critical role leading the day-to-day set up and optimization all Paid Search from strategic planning and investing, to leading the agency search team, to performance reporting.

The Senior Director of Search will develop a best-in-class search marketing strategy that drives demand and fuels new customer growth. This position collaborates with diverse stakeholders from internal teams, client teams across multiple lines of business, and representatives across key strategic partners. Our most successful Senior Directors are motivated self-starters and team players who partner with multiple cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional client consultation and service.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience working at a digital media agency or client-side media management experience and/or leading direct-to-consumer marketing via performance media strongly preferred
  • 5+ years experience managing, mentoring, and nurturing a diverse team in a fast-paced organization
  • A performance marketer at heart who enjoys making data-driven decisions and implementing growth strategies based on establishing efficiency at scale 
  • Deep understanding of how Paid Search/SEM interacts with Display Media, Paid Social, SEO, Affiliate, Feeds, Mobile, Social and Attribution
  • Expert knowledge of Paid Search, market development and trends 
  • An expert with standard search industry reporting and diagnostic tools (Adwords, Google Analytics, Search Console, Screaming Frog, Majestic, Moz and SEMrush etc), Ad-serving and Bid Management technologies (DoubleClick, etc) and Enterprise-level SEO platforms (Brightedge, etc) 
  • Experience working with traditional and ecommerce search platforms and partners such as Google AdWords, SA360, Yahoo Gemini, Bing Ads, YouTube, Amazon Advertising (AMS/Amazon Marketing Services)
  • A motivated self-starter and team player, with the ability to partner with multiple cross-functional teams and manage a team
  • Strong analytical, project management and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented with a focus on delivering results
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, and well-honed ability to communicate with senior client audiences, ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization from media partners to senior leadership
  • Have strong management skills, with a coach and an advisor mentality
  • The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in a relevant field of study

Responsibilities

  • Developing holistic search strategies (paid and organic) and oversee implementation of campaigns 
  • Acting as a subject matter expert for all things paid search by leading strategy development, campaign management, testing and execution with a unified vision for new customer acquisition with a focus on LTV 
  • Managing the day to day collaboration with the client team to continuously ensure that priorities are balanced and achieved in the short-and long-term 
  • Leading search media performance analysis and reporting with internal stakeholders, agencies and partners 
  • Managing large media budgets with timely forecasting, reconciliations, and support audits 
  • Uncovering deep understanding of consumer audiences, define what consumers are searching for and present actionable recommendations based upon those consumer intent insights 
  • Working with teams to lead and develop ongoing account optimization processes to include structure improvements, targeting improvements, keyword expansion, advanced use of negative keywords, and improvement in bid management processes and algorithms 
  • Working collaboratively with internal audience development, digital media, digital and social marketing and brand teams to determine business priorities to fuel search strategy 
  • Incorporating search planning workflows into the organization’s broader media and planning processes 
  • Working side by side with Tactical Planning team to ensure tight coordination of campaign setup, adjustments and optimization performance is efficient and effective
  • Working with Strategy team to understand goals, address client needs, and communicate results and insights back to clients
  • Developing strong relationships with clients, global counterparts/colleagues
  • Setting Budgets, KPIS and measurement framework, own accountability over client’s budgets
  • Effectively presenting strategic and tactical plans to clients, staff and internal teams

Team Leadership 

  • Managing and mentor a team of Search channel specialists, providing day-to-day guidance as well as career growth and development
  • Ensuring team manages and efficiently optimizes programs within budget goals, working closely with Investment lead on budget opportunities
  • Managing and assigning resources, track progress, assist in execution and consistently plan programs through supervision of the team
  • Providing regular insight and training to challenge and develop junior team members

This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living). The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Compensation Range
$120,000$230,000 USD

This role is hybrid, requiring three (3) days per week in the office. The remaining two (2) days may be worked remotely. Specific in-office days will be discussed during the interview process, with flexibility to align with team needs. Please note that the number or required in-office days may be adjusted over time, potentially increasing the number of required in-office days based on business needs.
