    LOCATION OF POSITION: Fairport NY 14450; O'Connor Academy - Anticipated Openings

    TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 10-Month Position, Full-Time, Probationary

    STARTING DATE:  September 2026

    SALARY RANGE: $48,500 - $78,642 per school year (or higher depending on BUP negotiations)
    *Actual Salary Is Dependent Upon Education, Experience and Contract.

    DUTIES:
    1.  Plan and provide Science instruction for adolescent students exhibiting social, emotional, and learning needs in accordance with NYS mandates.
    2.  Implement and evaluate Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) to meet student needs.
    3.  Implement and evaluate behavior intervention plans for secondary students.
    4.  Work in a team environment that fosters the philosophy of collaborative planning, restorative and trauma informed care, and an interdisciplinary approach to learning.
    5.  Effectively communicate with school staff, parents, districts, and community agencies.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    1.  NYS Certification in Biology and/or Earth Science 7-12 required.
    2.  NYS Certification for Students with Disabilities (Grades 7-12) or Permanent Special Education K-12 required, or willingness to obtain Students with Disabilities certification during probationary appointment (Tuition Reimbursement available).
    3.  Successful teaching experience instructing Special Education High School Biology and/or Earth Science.
    4.  Experience working with high school age students with emotional/behavioral challenges strongly preferred.
    5.  Training in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention strategies or similar problem-solving strategies preferred.
    6.  Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
