Job Description

  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Must have a passion for students, especially students with disabilities.


 Must have the ability and patience to work interactively with students, especially students with disabilities.



  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.


                       Strong computer skills to implement multiple and diverse programs.


 Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.



  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.


 Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.



  • Preferred KSAs

  • 2-3 years of experience as a SPED Paraprofessional for a Charter School.


     2-3 years of experience maintaining and supporting programs designed for students with disabilities.


Responsibilities and Duties:



  • Help teacher prepare instructional materials and classroom displays. Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.

  • Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of materials and equipment.

  • Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.

  • Assist in the implementation of ARD identified accommodations.

  • Demonstrate support for student management policy.

  • Assume responsibility for learning how to work with student's individual needs.

  • Help supervise special education students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom; this may include some campus duties.

  • Keep special education teacher informed of special education student progress/needs Maintain confidentiality.

  • Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events as assigned.

  • Perform special projects, during and after normal business hours, and other duties as assigned. May travel as necessary.
