Position Overview:
The Human Resources Specialist (HR Specialist) provides a wide range of HR related services, administrative and operational support to one or more regions including but not limited to new hire administration; employee services and support within the employment lifecycle; implementation of HR systems and other applicable employee relations activities. The HR Specialist participates as a member of the HR department and regional HR team in delivering HR services to support Catalyst’s efforts to build an exceptional workplace.
This position serves as the main point of contact and statewide influencer/team leader for one or more specialized areas of HR service and/or specialty projects such as Pre-hire/Onboarding process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative HR support to assigned regions, ensuring accurate processing of employee records, documentation, and HR transactions
- Guide new hires through all UKG pre-boarding and Onboarding steps, verifying completion of hiring requirements and managing employee files, paperwork, and fingerprint associations
- Serve as a point of contact for applicants, employees, and supervisors by responding to inquiries, explaining HR policies and procedures, and directing individuals to appropriate resources
- Maintain accurate and timely employee information across HRIS, licensing systems, and internal/external partners to meet organizational and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate and audit pre-employment documentation, UKG workflows, document uploads, and new hire orientations/trainings
- Process personnel actions (including hires, transfers, changes, and separations) and ensure corresponding updates in HRIS
- Collaborate with regional administrative teams to produce ID badges and process vouchers for employment-related screenings and immunizations
- Maintain and verify employee compliance documentation in UKG and generate reports to support HR and operational needs
- Partner with HR and cross-functional teams to ensure policy-aligned documentation, and support both short-term and long-term HR projects
- Perform other duties that are reasonably related to the position’s key responsibilities and are consistent with the employee’s job classification, skills, and training
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 3-4 years’ experience in an administrative support capacity in a medium-sized office
- Experience in Human Resources or related field
- Proficiency with MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.), especially with Excel spreadsheet applications
- Comfortable with technology and aptitude for learning new software applications on the job
Preferred Qualifications:
- AA degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field

Working Conditions:
- Generally pleasant working conditions
- Less than 50% of daily assignments involve prolonged physical effort
- Travel: Up to 10%
Shift Type: Full Time, Onsite (5 days based out of assigned Regional Office)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8am - 5pm
