Job Description

SUMMARY:

The main responsibility of this position is to oversee the technical aspects of the facility to ensure all areas are productive and keep our production areas running at all times.  This involves process, mixing shop, and close relationship with Maintenance, Quality, Production and Set Up.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and improved efficiency.
  • Oversight and organizational development of process technology resources.
  • Ensure planned KPI’s of efficiency and performance are met or exceeded.
  • Identify and implement improvements in Safety, Environmental, Raw Material Consumption, Energy, Quality, Reliability and Capacity
  • Provide process unit monitoring and troubleshooting 
  • Develop, maintain monitoring tools, both daily and long term trends
  • Set process unit operating limits
  • Monitor and adjust parameters when needed
  • Monitor part quality and adjust process to correct problems
  • Provide mentorship to Process Technicians and Mix Shop by promoting and participating in knowledge transfer.
  • Drive daily optimization, supporting the unit’s optimizer role
  • Understand unit constraints and recommend alternatives to maintain process capability
  • Expand operating capability through knowledge and capital solutions
  • Identification and mitigation of risks on capital project and expense projects
  • Resource balancing of technical support to operations vs. improvement initiatives
  • Utilize corporate guidance/specifications for process and equipment design to insure compliance with all engineering standards and company guidelines.
  • Identify and provide resources to support Site Environmental and Health / Safety initiatives
  • Develop technical and leadership talent within the technical organization
  • Drive organizational change to produce a team culture within the Process and Maintenance groups
  • Develop project scope and incentives for Site projects that can feed into the 5 year plan for capital / expense projects
  • Direct supervision of Process Team and Chemical Mix Shop Team
  • Ensure prescribed p.m.’s are completed timely
  • Estimating costs and setting the quality standards
  • Institutionalize manufacturing Best Practice Tools and Processes
  • Ensure effective management of performance in the department to meet business needs.
  • Advanced knowledge in SAP, conduct audits and assessments to identify potential areas of risk and develop mitigation strategies.  Understand and maintain audit compliance as it relates to the Process Technology Manager function.  This would include: IATF, ISO, and TISAX
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines established by the company. Ensures safe practices and a safety-first mindset among coworkers.
  • Additional duties as needed and assigned

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will be responsible for providing leadership to a team of between 10-15 non-exempt employees.
