Within GPVM, the Infrastructure Vendor Management Office (IVMO) owns the framework for Vendor Management and manages the most strategic vendors and contracts across the Bank and is responsible for the end-to-end management of vendors across all Infrastructure divisions to improve performance, mitigate risk, optimize costs and maximize commercial value.
The Vendor Management Specialist is part of the Vendor Management Enablement and Control team within the IVMO and is responsible for supporting the definition and implementation of the vendor management framework and standards for the Bank and for enabling best-in-class vendor management through the provision of governance, data, MI tooling and risk control activities.
This is a new position in a newly established team. As a result, there will be the potential to develop the scope of this role, incorporate new workstreams and support new priorities as they arise.
Responsibilities:
- Support the creation and maintenance of enterprise-wide processes, standards and minimum expectations for vendor management by defining current and future state requirements to support consistent implementation and operational execution across the Divisional Vendor Management Offices (DVMOs).
- Support the development and tracking of shared priorities, objectives and measures across the DVMOs to monitor progress and delivery.
- Enable effective enterprise vendor governance and cross-divisional engagement and alignment through forums such as the Vendor Management Leadership team (VMLT), preparation of decision-making materials, and diligent follow-through on actions and outcomes.
- Support the coordination of audit, risk, and regulatory deliverables, maintaining clear visibility of issues, actions, and progress through to closure.
- Facilitate alignment across business and control stakeholders to clarify finding ownership, ensure consistent responses, and escalate where needed.
- Support the production of consistent vendor MI, performance reports and materials for senior interactions with vendors, collaborating with DVMOs and GPVM teams to present a holistic perspective on delivery, risk, and value across all vendors.
- Contribute to the ongoing definition, management and enhancement of vendor management tools and capabilities, including the strengthening of the Bank’s approach to vendor performance management and identification of training needs, ensuring they support efficient, end-to-end vendor management processes.
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement, automation and the use of emerging technologies including AI, to streamline processes and improve vendor management outcomes.
Skills:
- Experience in Financial Services or a large corporate environment with an understanding of vendor management across the entire vendor lifecycle
- At least 3 years of experience in vendor management with demonstrable experience in analyzing trends, data, spend and measuring vendor performance (SLAs, KPIs, KRIs)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on managing to business outcomes through collaboration with multiple parties
- Proven ability to create data and MI to deliver reporting and insights to inform business decisions
- Experience of creating story boards and developing materials required for the purposes of senior management briefings
- Experience in driving continuous improvement
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Good understanding of Project Management principles
- Strong team player with proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders across different geographies and business teams
- Flexibility essential to deal with new requirements and re-prioritization of current requirements
- Demonstrates initiative and works effectively with minimal supervision
- Experience of using digital and reporting tools such as Tableau, Microsoft Office 365 and Procurement platforms such as SAP Ariba, Coupa and digital contract workplaces
- AI skills an advantage
- Excellent written and verbal English required
