Senior Project Engineer
Location: 203A Log Canoe Circle, Stevensville, MD 21666-2128
Work Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
Salary: $90,000 - $110,000/yr.

Hydrasearch is looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join our team in Stevensville, MD. In this role, you will serve as a key technical contributor responsible for accelerating execution of engineering development initiatives supporting Hydrasearch's aerospace and defense programs. This role will focus on solving complex technical problems, driving rapid development efforts, and enabling new technical capabilities.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on technical problem solving, development coordination, and rapid solution implementation. The Senior Project Engineer will work within a small, highly capable technical team executing rapid development cycles including design, prototype, validation, and transition to production.

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as a technical execution contributor across all initiatives.
  • Drive development efforts from concept through validated solution
  • Translate technical ideas into executable engineering work.
  • Support rapid design iterate cycles.
  • Maintain urgency and focus on high-impact development work.
  • Identify and remove barriers slowing technical progress.

What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • Experience: 4–8 years of engineering experience.
  • Environment: Experience working in manufacturing or product-based environments.
  • Technical Depth: Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals and understanding of the engineering development lifecycle.
  • Problem Solving: Demonstrated capability in structured problem-solving and root cause analysis.
  • Execution: Experience bringing technical projects from concept through implementation.
  • Mindset: Strong ownership mentality and personal accountability for results.
  • Agility: Ability to move quickly without waiting for perfect information and comfort operating with limited struct
  • Travel: Travel may be required, both domestically and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications 
  • Industry Expertise: Experience in regulated industries such as Aerospace (AS9100), Defense, Naval, or Marine environments.
  • Advanced Execution: Experience working in small advanced development teams or high-mix, low-volume manufacturing.
  • Certifications: CAPM or PMP certification 
  • Advanced Education: Advanced engineering degree
  • Leadership: Minimum 2 years leading projects or major technical workstreams.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Experience with PPAP, qualification, and validation activities.
