Position Summary:
Schweitzer Ski Resort is seeking friendly, reliable, and team-oriented Banquet Servers to support evening events including weddings, corporate retreats, meetings, and special occasions. This seasonal, part-time role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, event-driven environment and take pride in delivering excellent guest service while working collaboratively with a professional banquet team. Prior banquet, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
Schedule: Evenings, primarily Thursday through Saturday
Shift Length: 6–10 hours per event
Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities:
- Set up, service, and break down banquet spaces according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), including tables, chairs, linens, décor, and service stations.
- Provide attentive, professional food and beverage service in accordance with established service standards.
- Serve plated meals, buffets, or passed items; pour and replenish beverages including water, coffee, tea, and wine.
- Clear tables, glassware, and linens efficiently between courses.
- Assist with buffet setup, replenishment, and monitoring during events.
- Polish utensils, glassware, and service equipment as needed.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, kitchen staff, and fellow servers to ensure smooth event execution.
- Assist with room resets for consecutive events and properly store equipment and supplies.
- Support the banquet team with additional duties as assigned to ensure successful events.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly and engage in a courteous, professional manner.
- Maintain a polished appearance in accordance with uniform and grooming standards.
- Represent the resort positively and uphold hospitality standards at all times.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service policies.
- Report spills, hazards, or incidents immediately.
- Maintain proper handling and storage of alcohol and bar equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Specific Job Skills:
License/Certifications- Idaho Food Handlers permit, AllerTrain allergy certification (may acquire on the job)
Technical- Comfortable utilizing Micros Point of Sale Computer system
Physical Capabilities- Combined standing/walking position for up to 10 hours per shift. Required to lift over 25lbs frequently and over 50lbs occasionally
Additional- Strong communication skills, ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, reliable transportation required due to evening event schedules, indoor and occasional outdoor event environments.
