Acute Community Mental Health Clinician (Full Time)  Hotham Street Clinic Preston OT, Social Worker, Psychologist or Psychiatric Nurse 

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.

 

Services are provided through our six main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital.  In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.

 

About the Role:

  • Full Time 

  • Working over 7 days, including morning/afternoon shifts 

  • Based at Hotham Street Preston  

An exciting opportunity exists for enthusiastic Acute Intervention Mental Health Clinicians to join Northern Mental Health Hotham Street. 

 

This is a multidisciplinary role and is open to Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Occupation Therapists, Social Workers and Psychologists. 

 

To be successful in this role you will have the ability to:

  • Provide recovery oriented care including assessment and development of interventions in collaboration with consumers/carers/families and other service providers including GP’s NDIS service providers and other stakeholders. 

  • Provide discipline specific evidence based practice and appropriate treatment options as required. 

  • Partake in discipline specific clinical supervision and workload management. 

  • Contribute in ongoing professional development activities and in-service training and sharing new found knowledge with the clinical team. 

 

Your Contibution:

  • Experience in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of severe mental illness and psychiatric disability. 

  • Capacity to undertake alcohol and other drug screening, assessment, treatment planning, brief interventions with clients who have a co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. 

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development for self and for team members. 

  • A current Victorian Driver’s License, and ongoing ability to use this form of transport.
