Tri-County Technical College is seeking energetic and dedicated individuals to join our Arts and Sciences Division as Adjunct Philosophy Instructors. These positions are vital to our mission, as the courses taught are key University Transfer components that provide students with a strong foundation for further baccalaureate studies.

The Philosophy Adjunct Instructor role is a part-time employment role. Successful candidates will be required to teach face-to-face instruction at one of our four community campuses (Anderson, Easley, Pendleton, or Oconee). Online instruction is not available.

Responsibilities
  • Teach one or more of the following transfer-level courses:
    • PHI 101: Introduction to Philosophy
    • PHI 105: Introduction to Logic
    • PHI 110: Ethics
  • Deliver instruction through various formats, including in-person, online, and at our branch campuses (Pendleton, Anderson, Easley, or Oconee) as needed.
  • Ensure course rigor meets the standards required for seamless transferability to four-year institutions.
  • Prepare course syllabi, develop lesson plans, and assess student learning outcomes.

Position Duties

  • Master’s Degree in Philosophy OR a Master’s Degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Philosophy from a regionally accredited institution.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Prior teaching experience at the post-secondary level, specifically with transfer-oriented curriculum.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (e.g., Brightspace/D2L) for online instruction.
  • Ability to engage a diverse student population with varied academic backgrounds.

Other Qualifications

As an instructor for these University Transfer courses, you will help students develop the critical thinking, logic, and ethical reasoning skills necessary for success at Tri-County and their future four-year universities.
