Job Description

Speech Language Pathologist
Location: Best Point Education & Behavioral Health – Madisonville, OH

About the Role

Best Point Education & Behavioral Health is seeking a passionate Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our Autism Services team. In this role, you will provide diagnostic evaluations, treatment, and consultation for clients with diverse communication needs. You will also serve as an internal expert in Autism Spectrum Disorders, offering leadership, mentorship, and education to colleagues and community partners.

Key Responsibilities

- Administration & Documentation

  • Participate as a member of a treatment team to plan individualized approaches for each client.
  • Conduct assessments, analyze results, and write diagnostic reports.
  • Develop strength‑based, client‑centered treatment plans (IEPs/504 plans).
  • Complete treatment notes and progress reports in accordance with policy.
  • Maintain accurate logs, confidential records, and necessary materials/supplies.

- Internal & External Collaboration

  • Support teachers in identifying and referring speech or language delays/disorders.
  • Partner with teaching teams to develop strategies, classroom supports, and intervention tools.
  • Ensure generalization of student skills across settings through team collaboration.
  • Engage with families and participate in school events outside standard hours.
  • Communicate effectively with school leadership and uphold the organization’s mission.

- Direct Client Service

  • Provide individualized instruction and therapeutic interventions aligned with student needs.
  • Participate in IEP development and ensure fidelity of implementation.
  • Utilize evidence‑based teaching models, including Structured Teaching.
  • Conduct ongoing progress monitoring and adjust interventions accordingly.
  • Model appropriate social and behavioral expectations and provide behavioral support when needed.
  • Maintain a safe, developmentally appropriate environment and supervise students at all times.

- Quality Assurance & Professional Development

  • Deliver high‑quality therapy services aligned with IEP/504 plan requirements.
  • Ensure evaluations and treatment practices comply with local, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Design and deliver professional development for staff, families, and stakeholders.
  • Stay current with best practices in speech-language therapy.


Qualifications

- Education & Credentials

  • Master’s degree in Speech Pathology or Communication Science & Disorders.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) from ASHA.
  • Active State of Ohio SLP License.
  • Five‑Year Professional Pupil Services License (Ohio Department of Education).

- Experience & Skills

  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorders.
  • Knowledge of evidence‑based practices in special education.
  • Ability to collaborate with families, schools, and community agencies.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
